How much is an MOT at MRD Automotive?

MOT tests start from £45. The DVSA sets a maximum fee of £54.85 for a standard car, so you are paying below the legal cap. The price is the same whether the vehicle passes or fails.

How much does a car service cost in Aldridge?

Servicing starts from £89. The exact price depends on the vehicle and whether you need an interim, full or major service. You are quoted before any work begins.

Are your prices inclusive of parts?

Do you charge for a diagnostic check?

A fault code read and clear starts from £24. If the fault needs investigating beyond that, diagnostic time is charged at £54 per hour, and we tell you before that starts rather than afterwards.

Why do some jobs say "price on application"?

Because quoting a single figure would be misleading. A clutch or cam belt on a small hatchback and the same job on a large diesel estate are very different amounts of labour and very different parts. Ring us with the registration and we will give you a real number for your car.

Will I be told the cost before work starts?

Yes. You get an itemised quote before anything is done, and if we find something else once the car is apart, we ring you and ask rather than adding it to the bill.

Are you cheaper than a main dealer?

Our labour rates are considerably lower than main dealer rates, and we can usually beat dealer pricing on parts and tyres too. On larger jobs such as a clutch or cam belt the difference is substantial.
